Planning on installing a sub, I have Nav with Bose. I have a few questions on the wiring. Do I tap off the rear speakers and feed them into the high level inputs of the amp or do I used a line level to rca converter? Is there a location where I can tap into both the left and right rear speakers without needing to tap in on each side? Where can I find switched power for the amp remote line? I assume to get to the battery for amp power it would be thru the passenger side firewall. Any specific spot or grommet that gets me thru the firewall? Do I use a seat bolt for the ground? I have searched but have not found these specific answers. Thanks
Have you looked over on the audio and electronics forum? There should be answers to all of your questions in the C6 FAQ. Just click on "Forums", then "General Corvette", then "Audio and Electronics".
Some people run the power cable through the existing factory grommet on the passenger side, or you can drill a hole and use a compression grommet.
There's a factory ground in the base of the B pillar on the passenger side. Easy to get to.
I haven't worked with the Bose, so you'll probably want to check the C6 FAQ. There should be a way to use the low level outputs from the deck for your amp, instead of using the amplified speaker outputs. Better to use the cleaner low level signal if possible.
Thanks for the reply. I was just looking at the FAQs but found nothing specific on where to tap into for the line that would feed the sub. Still looking to see what I may have missed, plus some things that I have read are not specific as to location.
That's what I am doing but nothing is perfectly clear. I see where it is recommended to use a PAC 24 harness, then I see other threads where they say do not use the PAC. Plus debates about tapping in before the Bose amp or after. Just looking for someone that has actually done this that can tell me what to get or what to tap into. I can figure out the power, remote and ground. Thanks
I just did this upgrade in my C5. Go to www.subthump.com. You'll need to purchase a PAC audio AOEM-GM24 add an amp interface for 2005 and up corvette. I bought the interface (different interface for a C5), stealth enclosure, Amp and 10" Sub from them. The interface plugs into the stock wiring harness without cutting any wires. I used the seat bolt for a ground, and ran the power line through the gromet in the firewall. I wired the power relay directly to a 10 amp accessory fuse using an inline (add a fuse) purchased at Autozone.

Thanks. Where is the stock wiring harness where this would plug in to? So there are 2 parts that I have to get, the PAC GM 24 plus an amp interface? This is the difficulty I am having with searching, I have not found detailed descriptions of where various components are.
The PAC website lists 2 items for a 2006 Corvette with Bose:
AOEM-GM24 and C2A-GM24, which is an amp interface. Do I need both these items? Is the ADDGM 24 used in conjunction with AOEMGM24?
You only need one or the other, not both. When you remove your radio from the dash, you will unplug the factory wiring harness from the back of the radio and plug it into the interface. Then you will take the male plug from the interface and plug it in to the back of the radio. The RCA jacks coming out of the interface will then plug into the amp.
That helps a lot. Now at least I understand where the interface goes. Is there anyway of doing this where I can tap into speaker leads or output from the Bose amp without removing the dash and radio? Getting the console out seems to be a bitch, especially removing the shifter **** on an auto. Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure if it is the same for the C6 as the C5, but on the C5 you can tap into the front speakers in the doors to get the signal for the amp and the sub. The nice thing about using the interface is that you don't have to cut any wires. You shouldn't have to remove the shift **** to install the interface. I did not have to remove mine, I just put the shift in 4th gear and pushed the boot base through the opening in the console. I got the instructions to remove the center stalk from the Vette Essentials website. I did not see any instructions for the C6. Go through the threads on the audio/electronics section of this forum. There should be some how to instructions on removing the center stalk to access your radio. It's not as difficult as one would think.
