Has anyone heard of, or, used the Black Rubberized Bed Liner spray/brush-on material designed to protect pick-up bed's on the surface of their wheel wells? Rubber's a great sound deadener. The wheel wells would need a very good prep and the exposed fastener's taped for future access/service if necessary.
I carefully used a expanding, spray-in foam insulator inside the lower 1/2 of the doors of a MR2. Along with a rubber mat spread out on the rear firewall under the carpet, it worked great and immediately wished I added it much sooner.
I too can vouch for the Block-It sound deadener. Great improvement, however my greatest improvement was getting rid of those noisy Goodyear run-flats.......replaced them with much quieter non run-flat Michelins. I then took others' advice on the forum and bought a 12V compressor and plug kit and keep my AAA card handy if that doesn't work! Together these two items greatly reduced the road noise because I enjoy my music on a road trip.
Another option is Crazy Cowboy's insulation kit. It will get rid of most of the tunnel heat also. Yes, it takes a lot longer to install but is worth it IMO.

I did that one and was amazed how much quieter and cooler on my leg it was. The best non-power mod I've done.

I orderd and recieved the Blockit kit and sold it a week after using it. My intent was to minimize the miserable exhaust drone caused by the GM Off-Road (Borla Stingers) exhaust I had installed. The kit did exactly what was advertised and reduced much of the tire and road nosie...however it did not touch the drone and since it isolated the road noise, it only made the drone much more noticable and annoying. So, if you want to kill road noise only this is a great product. If you have unwanted drone from the exhaust, this is may not be a good move.

I also have the GM off-road exhaust and I think the Block-It works quite well to reduce the drone.
