Insulation

What is the best material to use to deaden the sound inside the Vette and to reduce the heat, especially the heat coming from the trans. hump?

I used Exotic Vette's, AKA Crazy Cowboy's, insulation kit. Things in the center console are barely warm now, even a piece of metal. The other benefit is that you can run the NPP in full open mode and not hear drone. I just drove 300 miles with it on all day.

As far as the heat from the tranny/exhaust area in the center console, I replaced the stock 1/8" tunnel plate with an Elite Engineering Thermal Abs tunnel plate. It's 1/4" thick and has a thermal shield added as well. It helped lower the console heat a lot.
