Default Need Help Please!!

Hey all just looking for some help here. My friend has an 06 coupe Z51 6 spd with 16K on it and he is having clutch problems. it drives totally fine with no problems except when you take it up to about 4000 rpm it starts making this horibble noise. He asked me to drive it and try to figure it out so i said i would. I drove it to my work as i work at a Ford dealership (used to work at a chevy one but they are owned by the same person and they had 2 people quit at the Ford one so they just asked if i would work there and I didnt mind just for something new, but Chevys are still way better lol) and put it on a hoist and the noise is definetly comming from the belhousing and has something to do with the clutch or pressure plate. The best way i can describe the noise is it is a horrible violent rattling noise. Almost sounds like when you have a weedwacker and you stretch the plastic cord out and you start it up again and the excess cord gets cut off by the blade, that is kind of what it sounds like. it only does it with the clutch engaged. With the clutch pedal pressed in there is no noise whatsoever. I told him the clutch had to come out to figure out what it was for sure. he was dissapointed but is going to start to put some money in the motor now and will need a new cluth neway so he was not totally pissed lol. so if anyone has an idea of what it is that would be cool as i am curious. I was also wondering if there are any good corvette shops in Wisconsin that are trustworthy of doing the new clutch install and finding the problem! I could put the clutch in myself as i put a new one in my 99 c5 (now i have an 07 coupe) but i do not have the time as i am graduating this summer as an X-ray tech and school is very hectic and he wants it done soon, and by a professional lol. thank you for your time!! I was kinda of thinking maybe something with the springs is making the noise? what does anyone else think!!

I am not going to guess on the problem you seem to be having with your clutch but as for a shop in Wisconsin I don't really know of any. In Michigan though there is Livernois Motorsports who are outstanding with vettes and are just across the lake (just take one of the ferrys). Check them out if you want someone who deals with vettes on a regular basis.
