C6 Replacement Tires
I own a 2006 Z51 with the original Goodyear F1 Supercar tires. With 17K miles, I am looking to replace the tires. I would like to retain my original wheels & still have runflats & the air pressure monitoring feature.
Is there an alternate tire choice you would recommend that will not ride as harsh and not take away from the performance characteristics of my Z51 setup?

to back up what norm just wrote above, I put on the mich. pilot sport ps2s just about 2K miles ago. they seem quite good. they aren't inexpensive, but neither are the goodyear sc's. just remember that tires, esp the goodyears, get harder and louder as they age. so what you're experiencing now is not how the tires started out. nor did mine.
with the window down and riding in a quiet environment, I found these tires to be about the same noise level. so far, they grip at least as well as the goodyear SCs they replaced, but I haven't started pushing the car hard in turns.

I believe the last tires I got from TR were about $40+ via UPS to my door. You can have them drop shipped to any installer and TR makes recommendations in many areas. Of course shipping costs depend on how far. Actually Costco was close in price but didn't install runflats.

That's interesting, Norm, about Costco. I think Chris (cclive) had Costco just install his recently. Maybe they've changed their policy, or it's store by store.

I read that their tire people are now Michelin certified and qualified to do tires with TPM since that is now a standard feature in all new cars.

The guys at Costco just put on my new Michelin A/S Plus's and they did a great job with no problems. The only thing they said was that it was a bear getting the old GYs off the rims...but they said any R/F tire is hard to remove...not as hard to install.
$14 per tire for mounting, balancing, and the road hazard warranty.

I put on Michelin AS Plus and I'm really happy with the way they ride. They are an all season tire, so they aren't going to be as sticky as a summer tire, but they have a 40K mile predicted tread life on them.

I put Michelin Run-Flats on my C-5 and it was a different car - much better feel, ride, and tracking.
I realize this is the C-6 forum and I do now have a C-6 (2010).
I almost put Michelin tires on the C-6 at delivery - I now wish I did.

Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals. Get the price from tire rack, then call a firestone store tell them the price. 9 times out of 10 they will price match. That way you don't have to pay for shipping (although it's not really that much).

And third, it wasn't a staggered-size, front-to-rear tire test which changes how both ends gain or lose traction.

Most C6 owners who buy the Mich PS2 ZP rave about the tire, but they are usually comparing them to an old, worn out, hard-as-rocks set of Supercars.
There was one member who posted a comparison of his almost new Supercars to his new PS2 ZP's, but i can't find the thread with his comments. Can anyone find the link?

Just got off tire rack site looking for front tires for my 2005 ( 2nd set) with 59,772 miles.
Of the UTOG codes the Michelin had the best for RF's at 500, AA, A and a 93Y weight and speed code. The survey results was interesting and labeled them M's quitter than the GY SC's I now have on the front. The price was $259 ea and road hazard of #31.08/tire.
From Delaware to Florida shipping was $73.
BTW I have 27,000 miles on my front GY SC's. Tire pressure makes all the difference.
