My vette came with these wheels and I am trying to identify the maker. The center cap has "SE" on them. The back side of rim has: "FA-315 F.R., and ET. Besides that has only size information and the tell all Made in China.
The wheels look great except the chrome is starting to flake on one of them. Was hoping to replace the one wheel if it gets bad enough, but don't know who supplier is.
I was also wondering if something like silicone sealant(clear) around the small edges of where the flaking is starting might slow the process down. Any advice appreciated besides the obvious don't replace with Chinese crap when time comes.
That looks like a match. What is their reputation like? I really like the look of the wheels. I guess most are made in China now a days
Bob at house of wheels a forum sponsor can get you a replacement. I have Z06 reps on mine and havent had a problem with them. Maybe the previous owner didn't clean the Brake dust off enough, or chipped the chrome.
Tire Rack had a similar if not identical wheel in the past by the vendor "Sport Edition". That would match with the SE on the center cap. They don't currently show that style on their website but perhaps they are still available.
I don't think there is much you can do to slow the peeling chrome. Sorry about that.
Called and talked to Factory Reproduction. They acted like they would replace wheel after returning it to them for verification of problem. Think I'd rather order replacement so car is not down and return old rim for refund. The rep said that would be fine. I'll follow up on results. If I get a new wheel for free that would speak highly of this company.
