Yes, it is corrosion in the wiring harness connector for the taillights. I notice that you are in Houston...this is normally only seen in humid places...and you qualify. It is the main connector behind the fascia, the one for all the lights, not the one for only the brake light. If you clean the contacts and then spray with something like WD-40 to keep them from corroding again, it will be fine. Pull the taillights and look for that connector. Hopefully someone else who has had this problem will chime in...I just remember this info from a thread but I can't find it using the search.
Did find one thread...not the original one that I was thinking of....but useful:

According to this thread the offending connector is behind the inside, passenger side tail light. Good luck.
It's staying on and lit very dim. Anyone have that problem or know a solution please?
Inspect for water intrusion at the C455 connector behind the right rear tail lamp. Dry out the connector, repair any damaged terminals, reroute the connector to avoid water intrusion and coat terminals with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.
It's fixed - remove either one of the passenger side tail lights and find the large connector that goes to the tail lights, unplug it, clean the corrosion inside the connector, plug it back together, and it's fixed.
