Parking
I just purchased a new 2010 GS. I have read many post about how to park a 6 speed man.
The manuel says to leave in reverse and parking brake set.
Is this correct.

Nothing wrong with that advice.

congrats on your new gs. when i got my 09, the dealer said to park in reverse and so does the manual so that's what i do. 13 months later, no issues, knock on wood.

If I park in a level spot, the parking brake alone is enough to keep the car safe. On any incline though, I leave it in first or reverse.

I always park it in reverse with the emergency brake on no issues and no harm so all is good.

If you have the memory system, the auto feature to move your seat fully rearward to help get in/out of the car will not function unless the parking park is engaged. You can leave the car in any gear when parked, as there is no one "best gear" as far as maintaining the battery charge, etc.

truly level is pretty rare and what seems level may not really be
there's no harm in parking it in gear so might as well do it every time

On a downhill I leave in 1st or 2nd.
On an uphill reverse.
If the engine turns I want it to turn the direction it is supposed to. Just me.
