Is there a way to turn everything on, without starting the engine? In other words, not just accessory mode... but full mode where the gauges come on. I needed to use a scan tool the other day to clear a code for CAGS (fuse). It said to turn ignition on, but do NOT start the engine. I haven't read anywhere how to do this. Reluctantly I just went ahead and started the engine, and cleared the code with it running, but I figured there has got to be a way....?
press down and HOLD in the start button. Instead of just pressing and releasing it to enter "accessory" mode, just keep holding it down until everything comes on. It will then turn everything on just like the car is when it's running, but without starting the engine.
Press and hold THE BOTTOM of the start button until everything turns on.
My MANUAL is in the car, in storage. If that is your response, you have a LOT of posts to respond to. (I think there have been several posts asking why their manual car forces them to shift from 1-4th?)
If you have a manual transmission, you can also push the start button just as normal but don't push in the clutch. It will turn ignition on and not kick over the starter.
Actually, if you hold the bottom part of the button for a few seconds, it does the same thing as trying to start the car without the clutch pedal pushed in...it turns the ignition to "on"...everything is on except the engine is not running....the equivalent of turning the key to the "run" position without cranking the engine on an old fashioned car that uses a metal key.
From page 201 of my 2007 manual...
"Press the bottom of the Acc. button on
the instrument panel and hold the button down for
five seconds. The instrument panel, including the
check engine light, will light up and the ignition will
be on, but the engine will not start—"

Nope, at least not on my '07.
the procedure you mention only turns on "accessories". Other electrical items that are only powered while the car is in "full running mode" are NOT activated.

Try it...hold the button down for 5 seconds as the manual says...and the fob must be inside the car just like if you were going to start it...I quoted the page from the manual...

Sorry but it is not
OK, then please tell us what doesn't come on by depressing and holding the bottom of the toggle switch. I don't know about your car, but in mine it turns on the A/C, the DIC, the DVD drive, and other things that I can hear even though I don't know what they are. I get power to a lot of stuff that doesn't come on when I'm in accessory mode.

I just walked out to my '07 and tried it.
I knew I was right before I did it and confirmed that fact.
You're misinterpreting the manual - I just took a look and didn't see anything that indicated any differently than I've been saying.

Really? The instruments don't come alive (although the DIC does say "Accessory Mode" or something like that - I can go back out and get the exact verbage I suppose) in mine. Nor does my Radar Detector which is powered from the rear view mirror. Also I have a 2 way radio that is only powered when the car is running. It also does not power up via the method described.
Perhaps the firmware for the computers was changed in later years but as I said, my '07 does NOT power up everything
You're not holding the button long enough. It takes a good 5 or 6 count and then it turns on the DIC, instruments, radar detector, headlights (if you are in a garage)....everything except the engine. The DIC will go through the same start up sequence as it does when you start the car.
