So I test drive a 05 Vette yesterday. The door won;
't open so the salesperson uses the key to pop the truck to pop the door open. Then won't start, so the sales person inserts the keyfob into the place in the glove department to make it start. Is there a fix for these problems yet? I had a 05 Vette a few years ago and had these problems and dead battery problems. Is there a fix for these issues?
Based on the fact that it is an '05, that it was both the doors and starting the car and the fact that putting the fob in the slot in the glovebox fixed it, it say the fob simply needed a new battery on that car.

Door won't open is almost always either a dead car battery or a dead FOB battery. Same for car won't start until you put the FOB in the glovebox slot. If the car then starts that eliminates a dead car battery.
The primary defect is likely in the dealership / salesperson. Can you imagine trying to "present" something to someone in a positive fashion when it's defective? I'd love to hear the fast talking trying to explain away an inoperable door or non-starting car on a lot. WHY would this even be offered for sale until all issues were resolved (especially when it likely is just a simple fob battery)?
The funny thing is that the dealer will not know what to do, or even if he does, he won't actually spend the three dollars to replace the fob battery. He will ultimately sell the car the way it is...
