Default GS splash guards

Does the GS come with front and rear splash guards from the factory? From what I see it seems only rear. I've done a search but can;t seem to be 100%.

Yes they do, however, they are just like the Z06 ones and only the rears gives protection. The fronts don't stop much. For that reason when my 2011 GS comes in I will be doing the clear bra along the bottom of the venders and rocker panels. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure they are a dealer installed, if you ordered them with the car, if not you can just add them anytime.

My car has splash guards and I have the cleartastic from my old 08 to add to the critical areas

The GS comes with rear splash guards. If you want splash guards for the front, the only vendor is Apsis and they run about $325.

I installed these on my GS and I highly recommend them. They give you a factory stock look and offer maximum protection.

The Grand Sport comes with the Z06 splash guards, front and rear, which are installed at the factory. They are part of the Grand Sport package and are not an option. The dealer installs the front lip below the bumper cover as part of the PDI on the Z06, GS and ZR1(running boards on the ZR1 are also applied by the dealer as part of the PDI).

They are dealer installed on delivery....

If you didn't get yours (he probably kept them, so he can sell them to you later on), I would go back to the dealer and demand he either install them, or you want a full refund and return the car to him.... If you do a site search, you will find quite a few threads that cover the same subject. Be careful though, there are a few unenlightend posters on this site that will tell you that you need to spend over $300 on some splash guards from Apsis.... I think they're in kahoots with these unscrupulous dealers or something. I mean who ever heard of not getting front AND rear splash guards on a brand new, very expensive sports car, right? (Look below, I got 'em on mine, see?)

Ever since the GS came out, these damn dealers are pulling all kinds of tricks on unsuspecting customers, but I'm glad to see he didn't fool you.....

Good luck getting them....

Thanks guys. My vette was on the delivery truck today at 5PM so by the end of the week I should know if the dealer is trying to pull one over on me. Great, one more thing to worry about the first time I lay eyes on it (two schools of thought in the above posts, some say dealer, some say factory).

With all due respect I beg to disagree, the front splash guards are not included on the GS and the Z06 from the factory.

I'm guessing GSRANDY is right. Just bought a GS. Went through the standard and option list with a fine tooth comb. Never saw front splash guards mentioned, once.

If you other responders know something different, give me the GM specs (and not speculation or hear-say) so I can go back to my dealer.

Rear splash guards are there. I have friends who have a few GS's and recent Z06's. No front splash guards as standard.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but somebody has to prove it with facts.

I guess no one has a sense of humor anymore.... (Nor did they do a good search)

I guess I'm a d*ck, for messing with the n00bs, so I guess I need to fess up.... The GS or Z06 do have front splash guards, but they don't do a very good job at protecting the rocker panels or the rear brake vents at all, because the front tires are very wide.

If you would have done a better search (C6 Gen or Z06 threads), you would have seen many threads covering this subject. The top picture (of the two I posted), was actually in a thread I did thanking Jersey (the owner of Apsis) for hooking me up. While you're searching it, you will also find threads that ask about using front splash guards or clearbra... (I use both).

Maybe the MODS need to start a thread of their own for the GS guys?!?!?

I thought my original post was pretty obvious that I was joking, but I guess not.... Oh well...

Your sense of humor seems to be something you share only with yourself. You need to go back to school. As a satirist, or humorist, you failed previous courses. So don't cast doubt on others knowledge.

Sincerely,
A n00b

My, my... Someone is a little touchy, huh???

Especially, when I wasn't posting to you in the first place. I wasn't casting anything at anyone, but being here since '99 if you still consider yourself "a n00b"... Well God bless you.....

Can you post some pictures? I was also thinking of doing this for my GS.
Thanks

Check the post above by NJ Vette Guy for photos of the APSIS front splash guards or go directly to the APSIS web site.

I added the APSIS front splash guards to my GS, fit is great, look OEM and most importantly, will provide the added chip protection to the side of your GS you are looking for.

APSIS products are expensive, however their quality and customer support level is top notch from my experience.

Regards,

GSRANDY

Good advice, that's what I did, looks clean and much nicer than any aftermarket add on.
Best thing is if they get pitted up over the years, you can just remove the clear and install new pieces.
Don't forget to do the rear brake ducts, they get hit with debris too.

I saw at least a couple of pics of the apsis guards on the front of GS cars. They look very good. One poster said that one of the screws could be longer, but it all seemed to look very well done, almost as if it was factory made.
