OK, just went out to garage and this is what I came up with.
Width of front stripe, 5.75" at the top (hood)
widthe of front stripe, 6" at the bottom (wheel)
Width of rear stripe, 6 5/8" at the top
Width of rear stripe, 8 1/4" at the bottom
Width of border, 3/8"
Distance between stripes 7/8"
Hope that helps.
Post pics when your done, I want to see it
I guess the hash marks start right at the border anyway, right?
So far so good, but could I make you walk to your garage again somehow
and get me the length of the arrow A and arrow K so I get the right angles too?Forgot somethting....to get the right angle I would need the length of the stripes (Arrows D,E,F,G) too
This is what we got:
A =
B = 6"
C = 8 1/4"
D =
E =
F =
G =
H = 6 5/8
I = 7/8"
J = 5.75"
K =

You can order these from www.vettestripes.com
Pretty inexpensive, they install very easily and are auto-grade vinyl..

But they have the cool lil logo embedded in them

Back in the summer of '68 I was fortunate to be able to buy a '68 Camaro SS396. I was 18, had two jobs, worked more than I played etc.....it all went into the car. You know the story.
But....see, my car had painted on stripes. Back then, if you wanted pinstripes down the side of your car you got them painted on. Like the detailing on a custom motorcycle today.
Then, mid year '68 they changed the stripes on the SS model and brought it back down the side and well onto the door. The front part....to the front edge of the wheelwell , was paint. The rest, from the back side of front wheelwell on down the door was vinyl.
I recall how it seemed unbelievable at the time that such a nice car as a new Camaro could be cheapened so by having vinyl plastic tape stuck to it. The tape on the door got nicks or just bubbled on it's own in the sun.
Pretty soon....all that "expensive" paint was gone and all the stripes were vinyl. Now, I know, today, as you say...it's "auto-grade vinyl. But you have to understand why and just how hilarious that phrase is to an old guy like me.
This plastic tape is cheap and it's a cost saving measure to avoid using real paint. Now, having said that I think the hash marks are pointless and cheapen the look of the car.....and , apparently, this guy only wants to copy the ones on a "real" GS. It's his car but plastic tape is still plastic tape even forty years later.
If I just had to have these silly marks on a C6 I'd have them painted on by a professional.

If you dislike the GS and anything to do with it so much why even bother?
I will agree that copying them with some cheap vinyl do it yourself job is not what I would do.

I still need just a little more info...come on....it can't be that difficult to take some tape measure and get those dimensions I am still lookin for
