Has anyone tried using ClearTastic?
Got the new Vette this week and thought I should protect those areas behind the tires. I purchased a set of ClearTastic from a well known mail order (Internet) house.
It's not exactly what I thought I was getting and it appears it would be a real pain to keep in place. It doesn't look like it covers critical areas around complex surface curves.
I think I will be looking for a good location around St. Louis, MO to get something applied behind the tires. I also want to be able to remove it without paint damage if I decide that I don't like it.
Anyone know of a good place to get it done? What should I expect it to cost?

Check out the G.M. splash guards. I just put them on my car and really like the look. They do a great job in protecting the panels behind the wheels. Really easy install. Just a suggestion.

Get the GM splash guards for the C6. They don't look like they would do much, but you'd be surprised how much stuff they keep from hitting the areas behind the wheels.
Plus they look like they belong on the car (don't know why GM doesn't offer them as an option). Forum vendors usually have them for about $100 for the full set.
I use splash guards and Cleartastic. I love the Cleartastic and it should be replaced ever couple of years. The great thing is you can peel it off, wash and wax under it, wash it and put it back on.
Cleartastic is junk, first used it on my 07. while washing the hood the wheelwell cover fell off. Spend the money and get the film.
I got a 4 set of color match mud guards from a forum member and they work great. I lost both rear cleartastic pieces in a rain storm somewhere in Houston.

Seems the opinions and results are a little mixed. Some like it, but some have had pieces fall off. The later was one of my concerns, but I am more concerned about the areas at corners that appear they would be unprotected.
I think I am going to send these back and give teh GM guards a careful look. I just hate the idea of drilling up any hole sizes.

They are making cleartastic for Z06 and grand sport for the rear duct opening that has stickie on it.

I just had my '09 Z06 covered with 3M film by a local shop and he did a superb job. He popped out the front side markers, and all four side air scoops so he could wrap the film inside these areas. He also wrapped the film inside the front scoop. The film looks great and has a lifetime guarantee. I had him tint my rear window while he had the car and that came out great too!
