I'm picking up my GS vert on the 27th at the museum. We are planning a little road trip on the way home but I'm not sure what kind or how many bags will fit in the trunk. My C5 had plenty of room for two carry ons but I know the new one is smaller. Anyone have any experience?

Two carry-on sized bags should fit fine in the trunk of a C6 vert. You'll probably want to drop the tray that holds the top in order to give a little more room. Things like backpacks and soft-sided luggage work better than rigid frame luggage.

I've taken a honeymoon in a C6 vert. It was only 4 days, but we also packed our chairs, and still were able to ride with the top down.
Pack light, and you can live in this car.
Congrats and enjoy.

(This is NOT a good example...It was his honeymoon, so you KNOW they didn't need many clothes. )

The coupe's trunk is huge! Not so for the vert!

you can get a lot in the trunk of a C6 Convertible. Two carry-on bags will fit nicely in the back with room at each end to fit smaller soft bags. Shoes will fit under the top partition in the trunk. You also have two storage compartments in the trunk.

All of this and you can still take the top down and enjoy your convertible.

if you pack for the weather, which should warm and sunny; you can put a lot of stuff back there. as was said before use the soft leather carry on style luggage and the side pockets for small things. if you are to be on the road for an extended time you can always wash the clothes at most motels and start all over again with clean clothes. that way you may never have to return home again.

Only with the roofs not in the back. You can pack more in a vert with top down than a coupe with roofs off stored in the back.

Previous Corvette was a convertible. We picked up one of those duffel bags with wheels and collapsible handle at one of the club stores. $40. Holds a lot, and soft, so easily compressed. Still had room for other soft bags, small cooler and camera case.

Congrats on the new GS! You're gonna have a blast!

How many roofs do you store back there?

Pardon me, the word was meant to be ROOF AKA top,:o (Guess I missed the spelling) but I assume most people would understand my point.

When I had my Verts, by careful packing I could get in lots of stuff.

You will learn to make maximum use of every nook and cranny in a convertible. As already mentioned, there is a short wide space under the convertible top's partition. There are also small spaces on the left and right sides of the trunk, inboard of the side marker lights, that are great for stuffing jackets, shoes, and anything about the size of the proverbial bread box. The passenger footwell usually has space for those one or two last things that just won't fit in the trunk, particularly if your passenger is petite. There are even chinking spaces behind each headrest on the driver and passenger sides of the waterfall.

And if that's not enough, you can always mount a small Class I trailer hitch to the frame between the exhaust tips for those once-in-a while times you need to haul things like camping gear, track tires, or your Harley.

It may be little to late, but I'll let you know on May 24th.
I'm leaving tomorrow to Florida from Texas, and my wife has been packing for a week.
I keep reminding her this is a 2008 Vert, and the truck space is limited.
I sure would hate to have to have a trailer hitch installed to haul a trailer full of clothes. (calm down, just kiddin about the hitch)
Isn't there a law or something against putting a hitch on a Corvette?
Besides all this, if you're going to pick up you're GS at the museum.
It's like the guy on the honeymoon.
You could probably care less what or how many clothes you have.
Congradulations, and have a good trip.
Bill

If you fold down the partition on the c6, the room is similar to the c5. We have had both and anything we could get into the C5 vert would fit into the C6 vert. It is a great travel car.

When we pack for Florida each winter, or a long road trip; I draw a line down the middle of the trunk. She can put whatever she wants on the right side, I put whatever i want on the left.

Works for me...

Wife and I took ours to Bowling Green from Tx during a club caravan for 7 days a few weeks ago - packed 2 full size suitcase bags, wash bucket & supplies for cleaning, loose clothes, jackets, shoes, walkie talkies, camera equipment, picked up a bunch of souvenirs from the Museum, assembly plant, etc... Still had lots of room in the trunk, didn't even have to fold down the compartment which stores the top. We also drove part of the way with the convertible top down. No problem!

We did 3000 miles in ours - 2 soft bags and clothes on hangers laid on top - no problem. Best part was that my wife even admitted that it worked good - this from a woman that always over packs!
