It used to come free with the OEM GoodYears on C6s. Don't know if it still does or not.

There is a tire warranty on the C6s, and it covers road hazards. The only reason I'd consider a road hazard contract is if it covered wheels, as well. The ones that do are really expensive.

I voted yes because I've had to replace my tires. $600 a tire is really asking for a wallet ding if you should happen to run over a knife? Who the hell would have that kind of luck!?

This is why...

A little something I picked up on the way to the hardware store.

That rascal totally ruined a brand new 19" GSD3 Run Flat. They couldn't patch it.

Yea.

I packaged wheel and tire coverage during the purchase at Holler Chev Winter Park FL, along with an extended warranty. 4 years on both the tires and wheels ran almost 500.00, compared to 1,600.00 for the additional 3-year platinum car warranty.

I hadn't heard of it before and was the most hesitant part of the overall purchase. That little voice kept saying this makes sense and do it. Now, I'm glad I have it.

I am speaking of non OEM tires that do not come with protection.

I bought it with the GS because it also covers the wheels.

We bought the Goodyear road hazard policy for each tire at less than fifty bucks each. Beats $500 to replace a tire.

Also, good idea to get a wheel alignment at least once a year. We didn't for four years and cost us a grand for two fronts. Wish I had paid the $100 per year for the alignment.

My buddy just paid $500 for a tire and wheel policy on his Grand Sport. He felt the price was a bargin due to the cost of the tires and wheels on the Grand Sport.

No. Your betting you need it, their betting you don't.

The last tire and wheel policy I bought from a dealer covered the wheel only if it would no longer hold air. Cosmetic damage doesn't matter. You could beat it, warp it, scratch it, bend it, whatever - no coverage if it holds air. As soon as I found this out I cancelled the policy and got a refund.

The road hazard, mounting and balancing is $14 per tire at Costco....there is no choice, unless you take the tires elsewhere for mounting I guess. For that price, it's a no-brainer.

The Road hazard has paid for tires on all of my vehicles as of late...I guess it worked out. I just picked up 4 Michelin Pilot PS2 ZP tires and opted for the road hazard, it was only $14 per tire at Costco

Exactly the question I asked my dealer when they offered it to me last week. No road rash coverage means I'll keep the $$ in my pocket till I need it.

Paid around $58 per tire. So far 2 tires had to be replaced. I won !!!

Also recommend 4 wheel alignment !

I got the dealership tire insurance...

But I would not purchase it again. I hit a bad pothole that bent the left front rim and caused a bulge in the tire.

When I got the insurance, the finance dude said anything happens bring it in and they will be replaced.

Well, when something did happen, they said the rim would be repaired, and if not, replaced with non-factory rim of the same type, and the tire, since it held air, would not be replaced.

What a joke. The problem for me is that it was advertised one way (or I was led to believe) but in practice it was a lot more restrictive than I thought.

I ended up getting the rim fixed (along with 2 others on my other car) for 100 bucks and then replaced the front tire at my own expense.

To me, the tire warranty was not worth the paper it was printed on. YMMV.

As far as the one from tire shops, I have used it in the past to my benefit but lately I don't get that anymore. It costs enough just to get a set of tires these days, even for a Focus.
