i bought an 09 C6 auto (first new car since 1987) and really love the car. feels a little bouncey espcially at high speed. besides the tires where is the low hanging fruit? (a little lower would be ok too)I dont want to go crazy... this is my daily driver. but am sure some of you folks know how to dial one these in on a budget. Thx,
you might like to read up on here about those who have switched out the sway bars to the Z51 sways (sold new by forum vendors, very reasonable; or sometimes you can find them in C6Parts for Sale, also very reasonable). that helps quite a bit. then, there are those who either go Bilstein Sport shocks or Koni FSD shocks, the Bilsteins actually being quite a bit less expensive.

I just installed Bilsteins on my '09 Z51 last weekend because of that "bouncy" feeling. They made a BIG difference. Still have stock tires too. When those are changed in about 10K miles, I expect even more improvement.

If you check back, I haven't really noticed a bouncy feeling in the 07 Z51 I just bought, but I suppose the Bilstein Sports would make for a better ride in genl.
Is that picture from "Life Stinks"? Great movie (esp. he says to another bum he's worth $6.4 billion and the other guy says, "and, I'm worth $6.5 billion", and he goes bonkers)
Hmm, unless something is wrong I would not clasify even the base suspension as bouncy. In fact as speed builds the more settled the car gets. I had my 06 base up to 170+ and it was rock steady.

When you take a sweeping turn, like an on-ramp at descent (legal) speeds and hit a hump, you will know what the OP is talking about.
I have a base suspension car also and did not notice this until the conditions are just right. I don't care for that behaviour either. I have the z51 sways but my next mod will be stiffer shocks.
I think with the base springs that the proper shocks to get are the Bilstein HDs.
It's not my DD so I don't mind giving up ride comfort for a tighter suspension feel.
Koni FSD's made a terrific improvement in regards to the floating front. I have the FSD's along with Z51 bars and Elite Engineering tunnel plate. Car is planted and level for street driving.

I agree that it doesn't take bumps in corners well, but I would describe it as skittery behavior. A bump in a corner, especially a sharp, short bump really causes the car to lose its balance and jump sideways a bit. This is the behavior that the Bilsteins really helped. Also I agree about the HDs vs sports on the base suspension.

konis sound like the ticket. i dont mind spending 1k on suspension. thats a bargain. and float is/was a better description than bounce.

the 170 i think would enjoy the track. i dont get that confidence at speed anywhere north of 150 continuos
