Default Headlight Assembly Separating...

So I just bought a 2005 C6 which apparently has a GM 12mo/12k mile warranty. I think its bumper to bumper, not sure.

Anyway.

The headlight is starting to separate... or peel.

Anyone ever experience or seen this? Think it will be covered by the warranty? Those assemblies are pricey! Im sure its just going to get worse...

Hello,

Sounds like you are referring to the GM Certified Used Warranty. If this is the case, under normal circumstances, this should be covered. The warranty is very comprehensive and covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper on any vehicle defect related to materials or workmanship, encompassing all but standard wear-and-tear items (i.e., brake pads, tires, etc.). All body and sheet-metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first from the vehicle’s original in-service date. Items not covered include damage due to accident, misuse, alteration, insufficient or improper maintenance, contaminated or poor quality fuel. Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Did you have the clear bra? Was the film installed on the headlight?

True, That's why I'd like to know the dealer in question as well. I get a lot of my lights this way.

I believe this is normal procedure. GM looks at it as the lens has normal wear and tear and almost anything can happen to the lens beyond their control.

As noted before some dealers will warranty only to get stuck with it. I've talked to more than a few.
