Default Drivers Window Problem?

My C6 drivers door window will only go down 3/4 of the way and stops.
Has anyone seen this problem? It seems quiet but only goes up and down 3/4's of the way. Help.

First thing to do is try re-indexing it.

Page 2-18 in your manual.

And if that isn't it, it could be a faulty door switch. Try swapping the passenger door switch with the driver's door (5 minute job) and see if that does it. If it does then you can either take apart the original driver's door switch and carefully clean and dry the contacts or get a new one, only about $15 I think. Good luck.

Tried re indexing the window still only going 3/4 down. I will have to try the switch tonight. Do you have to remove the door panel to remove the switch? Thanks Guys

No, no.....talking about the exterior entry switch pads. 2 screws and they pop off. This is the only thread I saved, showing how to take them apart and clean them....but they mount to the door with only 2 screws....very easy.

I am having a problem with window not rolling all the way down. Rick you are saying it maybe a problem with the pad that opens the door??? The window moves up and down when opening and closing the door. It just will not roll all the way down with the switch.

The exterior door switch can definitely be involved in this...so check it out.

Yes, it's all interconnected through the same brain box. The faulty pads cause all kinds of strange problems that you wouldn't expect. There is even a TSB on it. I obviously can't be sure that's your issue but it's so easy to check by switching the driver and passenger pads, why not try it?

I replaced the pad with an extra I had, tried re-indexing the window and no change. Window only goes down 3/4 of the way.

Sorry, I have no other ideas. Maybe Talon90 or someone else will come by with something. A dealer trip may be in your future. Best of luck.

If you still have warranty you need a trip to the dealer...
