Default LS3 Plastic Intake Box??
What is the square plastic box attached to the air intake plenum in front of the passenger's side engine cover of an LS3? What does it do and what happens if you remove it?? Has anyone removed this?

It's just an air chamber to smooth out intake pulses. I haven't heard of anyone removing it from the stock air box.

It's a silencer.Because everybody knows that Vette people want our cars as quiet as Cadillac's!! I removed my OEM and put a Z06 one on.Same thing without that idiot box there.
