I have been reading about many GS owners who are having serious electrical problems. The whole car shuts down while driving.
Here is one such case: "Grand Sport Coupe with 145 miles on the odometer, and the electrical system shut down. Her and my daughter were driving down the road, when the radio shuts down, the gauge cluster died, service engine immediately, Tire Pressure Low, low fuel (1/2 tank left), all came across the DIC. " .... car turned off
I have seen many other such cases popping up. Anyone here experience this?
Where have you been reading this? Clearly, not here. BTW, there's nothing "GS-specific" in the C6's electrical system. I'm not sure that there's even anything Z06-specific or ZR1-specific in their respective systems.

The other Corvette forum has been taking about this issue. It was GS specific.
Im intersted in more information on your sources at the very least. I have found nothing on CF, CAC or the Registry... I have been following closely for the better part of a year; so, I consider myslef "up" on the issues for my latest purchase. But, Im always open to more information and of course education. I will Google the hell out of it to see what I can find as well. (Found your quote on DC...)
After some searching, it would appear that your many GS Owners is just one GS Owner and GS Specific? Not so much, ya it happened in a GS, but it could have been any 2010 ... However, I will keep an eye on it for my own edification at least to know the root cause and solution.
OregonC6... you just cant miss a shot, can ya? Thank you for your invaluable contribution by implying there's a "special sensor" on the forged crank... now every mechanically disinclined GS owner is slowing down my Google search for electrical issues! Bitter much?

How can it be GS specific? They are built side by side on the line with all the other Corvettes and doubt GM would spend the money for a GS specific electrical system. At least provide some evidence of the large number of cases.
Sounds to me like someone trying to stir the pot and cause trouble... I've been reading all I can about Corvettes and the GS in particular since late last year when I got serious about buying one. I have never heard this...
We need a new term or acronym - GSE, grand sport envy - the desire to trash the new GS due to either recently purchasing a LS3 non-widebody and wishing they had waited, or being a Z06 owner and feeling threatened by a nearly identical looking, somewhat lesser performance corvette.
