Default 50% side window tint?

I have a cyber gray coupe and will have the windows tinted on monday. I live in Chicago. Illinois allows 35% tint all the way around, but Chicago cops are handing out tickets for front tints. I am considering 35% all the way around or 35% in the rear and 50% on the side windows. Recommendations?

Just got mine done in Virginia. Legal in VA is 50% sides and 35% rear window. I'm happy with mine.

Im glad I live out in the burbs I hate some of the stuff they do in the city. Anyway, Im a big fan of keeping the same % all around as I think it looks much better and overall more uniform. I went with 35% on my 06 Z and couldnt be happier and its legal. Ofcourse you live in the city and will get a ticket for blinking your eyes.

So I personally would go with 35% all around but if Chicago cops are as bad as I have heard you will get hassled and ticketed for them. Even though 35% isnt super dark they appear pretty dark on corvettes with the small all black interiors.

In Florida, the max is either 28% or 35% depending on whether you are talking transmission or reflection (I forget which is which), so that is what I got, side and rear. Whatever you get, make sure they know what they are doing, since the rear coupe window is a real bear to get right. I went through my selling dealer, who brought in an outside guy to do it. But the dealer guaranteed my satisfaction (and I am satisfied).

You will be very satisfied with the results of 35% all the way around.

No help here, I'm running 10% all the way around. I used to live in Virginia, and when I did, I went to an optometrist and actually got a prescription for darker tint. Just carry it in your glove box. Most any optometrist can prescribe it.

I 50% is a waste for the sides. I went with 10% on the sides/back and 50% on the windshield. Which neither pass for Georga laws.
