Just took the Grand Sport for it's first road trip last weekend (saaawwweeeeeetttttt) and noticed while cruising through town at low speed, stop and go, that the water temp went to 230 while the AC was running (assuming the elec fans were on). I had my C5 re-programmed to avoid this problem, will I need to do the same for the C-6? :leav ing:
Wow thats hot- i've got a gs with headers and a tune and never seen that number. Sitting idling think its peaked at 207 or 208. Make sure you haven't sucked something into the radiator. (fans have been reprogramed when tune was done)

Reason: more info
I had a 180 stat put in my 08 with cam & tune & now it will get to 203 in town & on the freeway it stays in the 180 range & it has been HOTTER then hell down here,it depends on where you live. The shop down here uses 180's stats.works great for me.Forgot> the fan is set to come on at 70% at 203 & that is when the temp starts to drop back into the 190 range in town.
Highway cruising temps range from 192 to 198. Actually, the faster I go, the lower the temp, which means the rad is doing it's job.
However, in town, on a hot day with a/c on, car hits 202 to as high as 212 when sitting in traffic.
You can buy a fan overide switch which will allow you to remotely turn on the cooling fan. That in combo with a 180 stat is something I may look into in the future.

That's very hot. My LS3 runs 194-96 on the highway and about 208-214 in town. Have dealer (arggh) check it out so you don't lose warranty.
