Have any of you seen the M2W unit, interfere with the ECM, BCM? We (me and the dealership) are trying to diagnos why my 2009 with 10k miles, has a starting problem. When it starts, the whole car shakes for about 30 seconds like it is running on 5 cylinders.
They put the scanner on it and got a P166 error code or something, but they could not communicate with a specific module. When they removed the M2W they could indeed communicate with the module and the module passed. We are trying it for a few days without the M2W to see if it helps. It is ONLY on a cold start in the morning.
The dealership is not pointing fingers, and they are truly helpful, but we are trying to resolve the problem. Apparently the module that controls the exhaust ports opening etc, also controls timing too or sends a signal to modify timing.

Can you remember the specific code...I can't find P166. I find a P0160 which is a possibility according to your description.
I can't offer much assistance but posting to ask that you keep me informed. I'm struggling with the dealerships explaination and diagnosis as it is the first I've heard of it. As a reseller of the M2W I'd like to see how this progresses.

Will do, and as I said, they are not pointing fingers at the M2W, just that they are following a logical diagnosis, removing the extras, and looking at everything one at a time. I will check what they wrote on the paper and post when I get home, thanks

No worries. I didn't have the impression that they were. Honestly, you've got a good dealer working with you on this as most would simply send you away and tell you not to come back until the non-OEM part was restored to stock (in this case the M2W). I'm more interested in helping you solve your problem.
All the M2W does is simulate pulling the NPP fuse correct? So I don't understand how it could be causing the interference, unless the wireless receiver/transmitter is the culprit. I haven't had any issues with mine.

I agree with you. Interesting they could not talk to the module with the M2W in place though. More research in order
