Default Adjust HUD without disassembling dash?

My HUD decided to go out of whack the other night after I hit ANOTHER giant pothole in Houston, Tx. I can see the projector working (at night) but nothing illuminates on windshield. Is there any way to adjust the HUD without taking apart the dash? Any help appreciated in advance...

You've tried using the up and down arrows on the HUD controls and that had no effect, right?

Yesser. At night I can see it moving when I hit the up/down switch. Dimmer works too. I can also see the different modes/pages. Just nothing on windshield...

Of course I'm only guessing but it sounds like the mounting boss/bracket on one end broke, like this owner's. New HUD in post #9 and explanation in #12:

Thanks for the link. But it looks like the dash will have to come off...

Well, yea if you're going to pay a dealer, no doubt they will take the dash off, that's the only way they know. If you are inclined to tackle it yourself you can buy a new HUD from someone like partstaxi.com for just over $300 and replace it just by removing the gauge cluster. You would just follow one of the DIY HUD install instruction sets here on the Forum. Just a thought. Best of luck.

I dont think you can adjust HUD. If under warranty dealer will likely replace with new unit and dash will come out. If not under warranty you can do yourself for roughly $300. I just installed a HUD in my 2009 2LT using the "cut the duct" method. I purchased from Partstaxi. Using this method, you remove the gauge cluster (easy) and cut duct leading to driver's side vent to get access to HUD unit. Took me 3.5 hours which included 1/2 hour to wire up unit which you wont have to do. Detailed instruction were included with HUD I purchased from partstaxi.
