new 2009 Z06 3lz-how much should I be paying
hello forum members
I have been going back and forth with a dealer regarding 2009 z06 with a 3lz package. I am asking all of you what a new z06 is worth now that the 2010 production run has just ended. I don't want to insult the dealer but I don't want to pay a ridiculous price as I could buy 2010 from a volume dealer for less than 70k (yes, probably a 2Lz and not the 3Lz). Look forward to what all of you think.
Thanks in advance
Eddy

now it gets interesting. the dealer bought out a dealer that was closing and this car was one of the lot they bought. Does anyone know anything about prices paid for cars a dealer owned when GM forced them to close. The dealer is saying that they did not want this car but it was part of the package that they bought.. just wondering if I have a little more room to go lower.

2009 Z06's had a large price increase (I am guessing around Feb 2009). The other cost variables are Navigation, wheels, and extra cost colors (Jetstream Blue, Velocity Yellow, and Atomic Orange). These options can add $5k to the price.
If you really get a motivated dealer and you use all the incentives, you should be able to get a 3LZ car with Nav and chrome wheels for $66-69K.
Use Jeff Hardy's Corvette Locator and email all the dealers with cars you are interested in. Ask for their best no trade pricing. You can also use this info to get your local dealer down into reality.

I purchased my 09 2LZ, chromes, NAV 23 months ago for $68,538, new, first month of 09 production. Same car with a 3LZ was ~$72,500. A two year old Z06 would be worth around $62,000 in my opinion, new or excellent used. As soon as you drive it off the lot, it's not worth anymore then the one I've been driving for the past 23 months.

And to the original poster, I would simply explain it to the dealership just as JoesC5 has said so here: as soon as I drive this car off your lot, it's no different from any other 2009 that's on the road. Other than less mileage, of course.
I think it is completely asinine that Chevy dealerships keep these "new" cars on their lots for this long. Bottom line, someone got greedy and didn't pay attention to the market.
ALSO keep in mind that there is a very, very limited pool of people like yourself who would consider buying a 2 year old new car. The dealer should know this and be willing to bend over backwards to sell you this car, especially with 2011 cars hitting dealer lots now.
20% off sticker is the bare minimum I would push for. Because the depreciation is going to be brutal...

Rogers corvette generally has new / used Z06's (1 to 2 years old) for very competitive prices (08, low miles, low 50's)
