Well, mine didn't have issues until the cam. I ran around with 410rwhp/407rwtq SAE and almost 300 drag strip passes without issue. Add the cam, 450rwhp, and I no longer have a happy clutch. I think would have been less issues with the auto

That doesn't sound like a factory car to me. Issues must have happened after you modified car and drag raced it. Would be considered severe service and usage.

[quote=Tom Bixby;1574579014]{05 Coupe, the 639th C6 produced. I have had the following issuesrivers side wiring harness for the headlight]

Can you tell me what it cost to replace the wiring harness-? I have been looking at doing it to resolve the turn signal / DRL intermittent inop issues - but I read here somewhere you have to R&R the front bumber assembly. is that right.

Not really sure what it cost because I purchased the extended warrenty from the dealer. All it cost me was $50. deductable.

Here's the thing...the 2005 are great. Bear in mind that people who are on this forum make a tiny sample of the corvette population, so you might read more "bad stuff" than most people experiene. It's like product reviews at Best Buy or any store; most people don't post positive reviews, only the negative!

My 2005 has had ZERO probems. Daily drove it for 8 months and put on 17k miles. Love it, love it, love it. Yes, if you're planning to run 800whp, none of the stock drivetrains were built for it!

Buy it, enjoy it, and stay off the internet forums

I been driving my 05 C6 nonstop for the past week and I'm loving it. I just had a seat problem but it's under warranty still and was fixed real quick from chevy. I don't have any other issues. I love my vette

Agreed...

1968 - Loaded with problems and bugs.
1984 - Worse!
1997 - Same, but slightly less
2005 - Same, but not quite as bad as others

Default My 2005 bone stock M6 F55 is great

I have now 20.5k miles and I did 3k on it. So far everything works great. Previous owner had to replace water pump (on 16500 miles) and I just did rear diff. oil TSB and steering column recall for it. It also have transparent roof, so no roof issues.

So, that's all what was done for it in 5 years =water pump . Of course, it already have second battery, but I didn't had any dead battery issues with it. I drive once/twice per week and don't keep it in tender.

VIN 225xx

Even car manufacturers and engineers readily admit that any first year model for a new design will experience a higher percentage of problems. A prominent car engineer once told an auto magazine that consumers should avoid buying a new design/model unless they like having a test mule.

When Boeing introduces new jet airplanes, they are more prone to having problems than a design that has undergone years of testing and fine tuning.

GM admitted that the 2005 had numerous issues and they had to be worked out in the later models.

The 1997 - C5 was riddled with problems.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying the 2005 was a pile of junk. I am just stating a fact that the 2005 was more prone to having issues due to being a 1st year model for the C6.

I had a 2005 vert with 48k when I traded it in. It was an excellent vehicle. It was the reason that I bought my 2010 GS !
