Default Interchangeable Composite Spring

Anyone know if the rear composite spring from a 2008 Z51 is the same rate as the 2007 Z51 ? Same part number, same rate? Mine is damaged, seeking a recycled replacement.

What transmission do you have???

It appears that the rear leaf spring is different for a manual or automatic transmission. I believe the Z51 option gets the FE3 suspension.

Take a look at compnine.com and it shows the same part# for all years 2005-2008 (2008 is as far as their website goes).

It lists:
FE3 Manual transmission: 15233387

FE3 Automatic transmission: 15233389
However, when I plugged those into forum vendor Gene Culley's site ( http://gmpartshouse.com ) it showed a different part# and says that they are the same springs for 2005-2010 for the FE3 suspension. It says both of the numbers above have been superceded by the following:
FE3 Manual transmission: 25962579

FE3 Automatic transmission: 25962580

So.....you'll need to get the correct spring for your transmission type.

Also, I don't know when they switched to the new numbers, but if it's a used part it may have the old part#, or a newer part it will have the new part#.

These numbers are just ones I found doing a quick search, so double check before you order!!

BTW, Gene's forum discount price is around $300 plus shipping. I would assume you'd be able to get a recycled part for a lot less than that. If not - go with new!!
