I was parking my 2005 corvette 6 speed and i shifted into reverse. (i have to or it remains in Accs mode) This time the msg to shift into reverse came up. i thought i had shifted in to six by mistake i had not. so i start the car up and try it again no luck. I when home and tried it again still same problem. then i unhook the battery maybe it would restart it. at last it did not now my car wouldn't start. could someone please help me
I think I have a similiar problem... The DIC will say shift to reverse when I am clearly in reverse. Just out of curiousity, I looked to see if the backup lights were on and they weren't. So my guess is that it is the reverse sensing switch. Anybody else have a similiar problem or know of a TSB on it?

well for my car the reverse lights really did come on and it did go in reverse. it was really only that the computer onboard didn't know it was in reverse.
i had the switch replace cost me 450 from a shady dealership.
hope that helps.

Do the reverse lights come on when they should otherwise?
If you go back to neutral a few seconds, then back to reverse, do they come on?
