Default Bug Remover

Greetings,

Need feedback/opinion on the following:

On two motorcycle forums, the [B]50/50 mix of hydrogen peroxide and water[B] consumes the protein in bugs, which removes bugs from motorcycles and windshields...

Another thread suggests spraying [B]lemon pledge[B]on the bike to remove bugs and to keep them off...

In light of the above, do any of you use the mix above and/or lemon pledge to remove bugs on your prized possessions? Would using the above products harm our vehicles?

I'm figuring that our cars are made of a similar material as fairings on H-D touring models?...

What do you think?

Tks,

BB

I find bug removal simple, motorcycle or automobile.

Its either Poorboys BugSquash or P21S Total Wash. Both can be used to spot remove or as a presoak prior to washing. I keep a small travel size spray bottle (and MF towel) in zip-lock baggie when traveling. It never fails to remove bugs and the acids they have prior to etching paint.

All you need is water and used dryer sheets.

I use Rejex over the clear bra on the nose of my Vette.
I just drench the bugs with detailer spray, let it soak in for about a minute, and they wipe off fairly easily.

I use wet towels on my harley and vette. Just soak the towels in your bucket of wash soap and cover them for about 5 minutes then hose them off then wash car or bike as normal.

Dryer sheets (softener) work great. After an attack of "love" bugs last spring, I cleaned the nose and used some Rejex instead of my standard NXT 2.0. Since then, soak with water and wash the car as normal and the bugs all go away!

Bugs-B-Gone by sea foam is great. I use it on my clear bra and it takes it off with no effort. Spray it on and 30 seconds later just wipe or spray off. All the bugs come off.

I use Macguire's spray wax, it loosens the bugs in between washes and adds a nice coat of protection for the next time.

Soaking for a minute in detail spray gets the vast majority. If there is anything left that refuses to come off I use a little bit of meguiars swirlx.

Soaking is the key...soak them for a few minutes with anything and they come off easily when washing...or try to get them off quick and you can scrape away with no results. When I go on a long trip and know I will get bugs, I wipe the front end with WD-40 before the trip...it helps with removal.

I use Bug Release by Wizard. I have mentioned this in other threads about bugs and never heard anyone else say that they have used it. I works great.

I keep water in a spray bottle that I use to soak the affected areas of the clear bra, wait 10 minutes, then wipe off with a microfibre towel, works great!!
