Fuel guage
I own a 2005 Z51 with a fuel gauge that works intermittently. I took it to the dealer for repair, naturally it was`working when i dropped it off,they could not find a problem, took it on a trip this weekend and about 100 miles out it quit working again and the check fuel system came on. If anybody has had this problem and repaired it please email me .THANKS MIKE 1

It has been an ongoing issue since the C5. As John mentioned, you can try several tanks of Techron or other quality fuel system cleaner along with top tier gas like Chevron. Many have had success with that. But, the real problem is the Fuel Sending Unit in the tanks. Generally it's at fault and no amount of cleaning will actually fix it. A proper fix requires replacement, pretty spendy as the tanks have to come out. If you take it to a dealer for diagnosis don't let them take the tanks out to diagnose the FSU, it can be done with the tanks in the car. If they take the tanks out for diagnosis and decide to replace then your car sits on their hoist (maybe) for a week while they wait for the parts. They can diagnose with the tanks in and give you your car back while waiting for parts. Good luck. I hope the cleaning works for you.
