I haven't tried both, but do have the plexiglass "vette net" windscreen. We saw the mesh windscreen at the Black Hills Classic and plan to swap. Here's why..
1. The mounts are permanent and much cleaner looking. You don't have to stop in the top lowering process to put in the mounts for the vette net, then finish closing the lid. After that, you have to make sure the vette net is not cocked when you try to slide it in the mounts or you have to wrestle with it to go completely down.
2. The mesh screen is taller, therefore the top rail does not obstruct any of your vision in the rear view mirror. The top rail of the vette net is all you can see across the middle of the rear view mirror.
3. Even though I have the storage bag for our plexiglass windscreen it's already scratched and we've only been using it a couple of months. I have never wiped it with a dry cloth, only with the same cleaner I use on the headlight lens covers and a microfiber cloth for glass.
