I'm eyeing a 2005 blk/blk vert for sale here locally with only 14k miles on it. My question is what is the major issues with this year of car that I need to be aware of when I confront the dealer?

Can't wait to get myself into a c6 for sure
If you don't drive it regularly, it will eat batteries.
Otherwise, my shop record, with 50,500 miles, says nothing.
I do have one issue that I need to go in for: The a/c display is clear sometimes when I start the car, and it is stuck on whatever setting it was on until I restart the car and the display reappears. This first happened 2 yrs ago, and is so seldom that I've still never taken it in.
Good luck negotiating.
And, hey...no need to start off with "confronting" the dealer.

Check the rocker panels for damage.
Check the front edges of the rear quarter panels for rock chip damage.
Check the battery out real good.
Let us know if it's a manual.
And the VIN if it's less than 11039.
I have a 2005 Daytona Sunset Orange convertible which I bought 3 years ago with 6k miles. It now has 20k miles, and I have not had a bit of trouble with it at all!!
The only problem I had with my '05 DSO Coupe was squeaky brakes, which I found to be annoying. And of course, with the coupe, there was the concern about the hard top popping off. Other than that the car was fine.
I would have killed to find a triple black 'vert when I was looking. I've had several black cars and, no matter how much effort it takes to keep them clean, absolutely love them. Now, I'm falling for the Monterey Red 'vert I have but I haven't had any issues. Good luck.
