you talking about the roll up, half-open canvas top that's tied to a center bar? or the boat thing pictured above?
maybe it'd look cool, but you'd have to brace the thing on some kind of very strong horizontal bar (call it a roll bar) to keep it from tearing away at anything over say, 45mph.

it'd be interesting but I wouldn't want one....
No NOT like a boat Bimini.
Actually I was thinking about a top that attach's just like the factory top at the windshield. Open in the back and sides.
Sunbrella material. maybe attach it to one of those rear windscreens.
Something to keep the sun off old Baldies (me) head.

Well, sunbrella is used in the sailing/boating industry and is some very strong stuff. Actually, wouldn't that kind of remind you of the "old" convertibles where the rear window would zip down and away? That leaves the top and just the rear "quarters" with some canvas-type material holding the top on.
I think it would be really popular. I bet there would even be a way to make it fold up neatly for when you are not using it. Perhaps some sort of built in storage area for it too. If done right, the top and all the bracing could just retract with a push of a button and stow in the rear somewhere, essentially converting to an open top. You could name it a convertible or something....
You have covers for you floor mats too, don't you.
I think that a Bikini... I mean a Bimini top would be great for a coupe - so you could get some sun and free up some trunk space. It doesn't make much sense for a vert.
