Has anyone painted their center console bezel?
Just wondering if anyone has had good results trying to paint the plastic console piece that goes around the shifter and radio area? My silver is pretty scratched up from the previous owner so I was thinking about trying to paint it either the same silver or trying black and paint all the silver pieces black in the car to match it. I have done this on my old 68 Vette when it was hard to find interior pieces and they turned out great. Do they sell a paint for these interior trim pieces? Thanks.

I used duplicolor adhesion promoter which can be found at auto parts stores like Autozone. The color matching paint and clear I got in rattle cans from http://paintworldinc.com/

I removed the radio bezel, gauge surround and door buttons, light sanded them, wiped with acetone and sprayed with Rustoleum satin black. Looked MUCH better than the stock shiny silver.

Thanks for posting this. I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. Anyone else have pics, and what/how you did this?

Same thing. Adhesion promoter and paint to whatever color you want. I had the cheap looking gray center console in my Z-06 and couldnt stand it anymore. Since then I have painted my bezels around the DIC buttons and steering wheel buttons to match.

Me too.. the center counsel really bugs me in that silver color, I have it too. Probably go with black.
Great pics everyone You have me sold too!
Question for the guys who posted pics.. what brand paint did you use, and what was the color name... just black, or flat black?? I want to have it match somewhat close to the interior like you have.
Thanks

Had it mixed at a local paint shop. It is just a satin black. Didnt want it too shiny and matte is a little dull. Came out just as I had hoped.
Satin was recommended by another forum member who posted pictures of his done.

I did the same thing. Adhesion promotor but I used vinyl interior satin black. Came out great!

I thought about getting the FAKE carbon fiber dash, but I painted my silver trim matte black years ago and it matches perfectly. I used adhesive promoter and then shot it with black paint. I think I did 2-3 coats letting each one dry about 30 minutes and I have never regretted doing it. don't forget the dic surrounds also.
