What time of year is the CD updated? I have a 2006 and the CD is very out of date. Is there a better place to buy other than dealer? How much is it? Thanks in advance.
My understanding is that the new model year (~July-August) cars get the new DVD, and then some time later that DVD becomes available for sale to the rest of us. Sometimes a LOT later, I think the 2010 DVD didn't go on sale until around February of this year, more than six months after it was being installed in the new cars.
I posted the question about what version the new 2011's have, but did not get an answer. Hopefully, someone will take a look and post the number here.
Keep in mind that ALL the map DVDs are out of date, it's "just a matter of degrees." The nav in my wife's brand new 2011 Toyota is missing one of our local roads that's been there for over 4 years.
We have 3 cars with factory nav, I buy one DVD per year so each car gets a new disc every 3 years.
