Default Reproduction Wheels

So, I want to buy these wheels from Corvette-Wheels.com but I want to get some additional opinions before I buy.

These are reproduction wheels, not the OEM speedlines. Has anyone had any nightmare stories with these? The only reason I'd defer from buying them is if anyone told me they've had them crack, problems with the finish, etc.

Also, I know they don't come with OEM centercaps. Will the OEM centercaps from my current comp gray wheels fit them?

Also also, is the comp gray on the reproduction wheels identical to the OEM comp gray? If there's a difference, I might decide to buy factory wheels instead, but they are 500 dollars more.

I want to buy these in Z06 sizes, if it makes any difference.

I have bought Factory Reproductions and really like them. I've had mine on for 3 years. You could call the vendor and they should be able to tell you if the OEM caps will fit, my guess is that they will. You may also want to ask about the color match.

Default Be very careful.

If you have a a stock fendered C6 & buy Z06 sizes they will stick way out from the fender, so forget that idea. Bob at House of Wheels will sell you wheels, like he did to me & as I later found out plenty others, stating 19 x 11 & 18 x 9.5 will fit, an 1" up in width front & rear, that's if you consider sticking out a 1/2" all the way around fitting. Be very careful, my story is too long to get into, but happens to people everyday. You have to have the correct offsets to go to wider wheels period. Do your own research, buyer beware, the the center caps will very unlikely fit. Sorry to sound so negative, but I learned the hard way. Leaving my car on jacks for 2 weeks. The best way is to find someone who has them on their car & talk to them, get pics, if possible see in person. The only problems once you get the right size w/ the repro wheels are they are heavier, & sometimes require a s..tload of weights to balance.

I can't speak to those repro wheels, but I bought Cray Manta's with Invo's (mounted, balanced & with new sensors) from Corvette-Wheels & was very pleased with their service.

Sounds like you've been on a rough ride. Hope your next wheel buying experience is a better one. Yes, I know Z06 sizes won't fit C6 but I'm pulling the trigger on a Grand Sport conversion in the next few weeks, so I'll need GS / Z06 spec wheels. That said, I really need to get an idea as far as the quality of reproductions is concerned... I don't want to buy them if they're significantly heavier than OEs, or if they're made of rubbish.

My repros have 28k and no problems...In fact two of the wheels needed less weight than the originals GM wheels...After more than two years they are not perfect but have held up well enough I think.

I do think overall the quality is better on the GM wheels though. How better they are does not equal how much GM loves them though.

Absolutely no problems with mine. No balance issues, minimal weights, very good quality for what I can tell.

Default Reproduction wheels

Factory Reproduction Wheels is misleading it's both a term and a brand name, & once I got everything staright, I was satisfied, particularly given the cost but not after a lot of threatening & headache. Would I do it again, absolutley not! Although, I don't think much of Bob, he does sell used factory (GM) wheels. I would search everywhere I could to get a set of GS gray takeoffs. People are always putting bling on their brand new cars & I'll bet you can find a set because although I really like the comp grays on the GS, more so than chrome, a lot of people think they're plain. I guarentee by the time you get all the body work done you'll be able to come across a set for the right price. I have a guys number somewhere that may be able to help. Send me a PM, just so I have it, & if I can find the number I either call him or pass it on.

Where ever you buy, ask for garantee for lateral & radial runout to be within factory specs. Experience!
