Default have u installed shifterboot & ebrake boot?

Anybody that has installed leather shifterboot & or ebrake boot..Do you have any pointers. Dsvettes website shows directions. I have printed them off.. Just curious about putting staples in plastic rings. I don't want to break them. Have you guys used any glue or anything except staples or staples ok to use.. any help/suggestions you have on this install would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks Tonya

I have installed both. Staples work fine. I just used a household office stapler.

The real B*tch kitty is that e-brake boot.....had a hell of a time with that, even called Gerry for any pointers because I just knew I was going to tear it where it attaches to the handle.

He told me to walk it around the handle with a small screwdriver...when I voiced my concern about tearing the boot,he told me to have at it & if it tore he'd give me a new one.

dsvettes sells the ebrake complete with the thing it's attached to.It's relatively easy to install.Remove the screw under the boot and lift the handle off and bingo. For the shift boot on the ring, staples or double sided tape work for me.

The e-brake handle & boot were really simple to install.
They're basically plug & play.

The shifter boot is more of a challenge.
Stapling is not really a problem.
However, when I first reinstalled it, I didn't like the way it laid, and the way it bunched up in a couple of places.
So, I pulled the staples out & redid it. No problem.
The DS Vettes leather is fairly thick & almost indestructible.
Staple (and re-staple) away. Don't worry about it.
