If the car was running when it died that would most likely rule out the batt. as the alternator should be carrying the load. Then if it only tries to turn over that sounds like the batt. as the alternator is out of the picture. Is it a standard or auto.? Check the code before you buy a new batt. as something may draw the batt. down like a cable grounded. If it has the original batt. it is about 4-5 years old and maybe needs replacing. Let us know what you find. Interesting.
I swapped coils 4 and 6 and the code moved from 6 to 4. I'm going to get some coils then.
Also, I have a weird problem with the windows. When I open the door the window rolls down a bit but when I close it it stays down. The remote was acting weird earlier also - would not lock car (works now).
I have checked fuses and everything is fine there.

you have to index the windows
Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done.
This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner's manual. See page 2-17 of the 2005 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2006 owner’s manual, page 87 of the 2007 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2008 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2009 owner's manual, ,or page 3-18 of the 2010 owner's manual. -JFP
I've never known a check engine light to come on with a dead battery.
unless the loss of the battery caused something to fail as the car was running, I'd guess you have a bigger problem. Run all the checks as noted in this thread, then call a flat bed to get it to a dealer or mechanic you trust to run the codes and see where she's sick. good luck!
Maybe he was trying to find help and googled vette info on the net and came to the forum?
Looks like this guy is just looking for help, but then ya never know, such is the intraweb I guess.
I am the second owner of the car. The GMPP was under the original owner and thus (at least according to the dealer) is not transferable. So i am screwed.
The motor is locked and there's now way around for now.
