Default Anyone paint over the sunvisor decals on a C6

I see that a lot of people buy decals and some remove the stickers. From what I see removing the sticker can lead to problems like not being able to remove all the glue. Has anyone had good luck with painting over the stickers on the sunvisors.

Nope--not that I can recall - -peeling them off with a hot hair dryer, then using goo-gone, etc seems to be effective. I chose the easy path of putting a black Corvette logo over it on mine- covers perfectly.

I'm not sure that material would take paint well . . be interested in the results if you try it.

I bought some generic flat black sticker material, cut out shapes that matched the visor decals perfectly, and stuck the flat black stickers over the sun visor decals. In this way I did not risk wrecking the visors or having any solvent odors in the car, etc. Plus, in the future, I can always peel my custom stickers off if I want to return the visors to "stock". Looks just fine, hardly notice the flat black stickers against my dark gray interior... 100 times better than the bright yellow and white visor decals. It's a shame they have to put those ugly decals on there. My stickers have held up now for over 4.5 years, still look great. Can't remember where I got the sticker material, possibly at an auction site, sometimes custom vinyl graphic / sign guys sell off scraps of 3M sticker material etc, that's probably how I got it.... pretty cheap.

For $20, the stickers look good and it's a 5 min job.

I got these off ebay

These look cool.

The ones I made myself are essentially the same, flat black, except no Corvette logo. I bet if you wanted flat black stickers with no logo, the guys who offer those stickers could probably provide it if you ask.

Just remove the ugly decals. You can get all the glue off.

What I did was remove the stickers using a hair dryer and Goo Gone. I could still see the outline of the stickers so I went to Pep Boys and got a can of interior spray color. Sprayed the black visors, now they are perfect.

My solution was to replace the stock visors (including stickers) with DSVette's leather wrapped visors that didn't include any stickers.

This is actually the best solution but a little pricey. My can of interior color was $4.79 and the GooGone about $4.00.

Default Ironed it off

I decided I would remove the visor decals today. I used an Iron with a piece of cloth between the visor and iron to heat the decal. After just a little heating I was able to just pull the decal right off easily. It left behind just a little glue and I removed it with Goof Off and it came right off. I can see where it was just a little. From what I have heard is that it will go away after awhile Glad I did it this way.
