Default C6 rears...dirt... vs C5's

do they get as dirty as the C5's ?
I asked someone at a show last night but he looked at me like ....... so I figured I would ask here. I will say that since I installed the oil catch can the rear has been staying much cleaner

Dirt from the road is about the same C5 to C6 in my experence. On the C6 ZR1 the side skirting cuts down on side body dirt a lot.

I don't see how it could make any difference.

For whatever reason, the rear on my C6 stays multiple times cleaner than the rear on my C5 ever did. I chalked it up to the different shape changing the airflow patterns favorably for a C6, but that could be a load of poo for all I know.

Then again, my C5 was black and the C6 is blue... and we all know black is the hardest to keep clean. Maybe both bumpers are getting soiled equally fast but it's less obvious on the blue paint. But it certainly feels like I get far less dust on the C6's rear.

Yep Seems like all the dirt/sand wants to end up on the butt, and inside the taillight housing .

The C6 body has a different air flow then the C5 so the amount of dirt on the C6 will be less than that of the C5. A rear diffuser would probably help in directing the air. I believe that there is a low pressure area formed at the back of the C5 that causes the dirt to swirl and land on the rear in the license plate recess and the tail lights.

Also tires kick -up the road dust through the muffler vents on the rear panel this must feed that low pressure.

Helpful hint:
remove tailight lens and wax the openings that they sit in. This should help.

Rear spoiler and C6Z06 splashguards appear to help reduce road grim and dust on my car. Noticed less dust after the splashguards than the spoiler.

Kind of off topic, but I've had bugs splattered on the rear of my C5--quite a bit of turbulence going on back there,if it sucks in the bugs,it'll sure suck in the dirt.

My wife asked me how a bee got splattered on the butt of my Vette-
I told her I was only going 90,and he must have been going 120...

Only on the CF will you be able to read about whose rear end is dirtier.
