Great I will check tonight.
Seems the big issue with the 06 vert is that its a "buy-back-car" and the general consenses is to stay away from these car's. It does have the platimum GM extended warrenty good to 2013 or 100k would that not cover any potential issues?
Yes it would, the buy back is a stigma that will hurt the value of the car though. I'd stay away from the ZHZ's, a ZHZ could be a great car, but again a rental has a bad stigma too.
"Both cars should be well under $30K IMO. If you can spend $32K, I agree with the earlier post that you should look for an 08. I have an 05 and love it but, if spending that much today, I'd want the LS3 and other upgrades. " DriverC6 I would laugh at somebody offering 32,000 for my 08 z51 3lt. But can I buy your 05 for $20,000 since you don't think Vette are worth that much.
The '07 sounds like the best choice, great color, upgraded interior, good tires, no problems, and a '07 has a transferable, 5-Yr/100,000-mile powertrain warranty from the factory.
Great input from everyone, I like the 07 myself also but the 06 vert does have lots of options like Heads up which would be fun, I just need someone to step up and offer a 08 2lt red or black for 32k.
The first car is way too high especially for a buyback. That is a high price for a good 2006. Lets just say you buy it, you'll be the 3rd owner and with "buy back" in the vehicle's history. The 2nd owner probably wants to clear his payments without getting screwed. Don't be the sucker born every minute, it sounds like he is either one already or bought it cheap and is trying to make some money. Buybacks are a risk and the 2006 has a limited powertrain warranty to begin with.
With the 2nd one you need to decide if the 3LT options are worth it. 1LT is a great base Corvette but IMO the price is way too high. You should be able to find a 2008 in the mid to low $30k range. That'll give you 30 more HP and possibly have the dual mode exhaust option. It would also most likely be covered by the factory bumper to bumper warranty.
