Another thank you to Geoff Allen in helping me to get a problem resolved. While I won't go into the details of the problem he convinced me to take my car back and have it diagnosed again for a trans problem while in 5th gear only. The dealer I took it to checked it and promptly repaired it. This has been a thorn in my side for 9900 miles and it is now fixed!!

Thanks Geoff and Watson Chevrolet
Yes I had an issue with an oil leak and Geoff offered to help. As it turns out, GM seems to be honoring the 5yr/100K drive train warranty with no problems. So I didn't need Geoff's help but the fact that he is out there is a really good sign.

So GM will repair oil leaks if drivetrain related?

They should. I had a right rear axle seal failure repaired during the initial 36,000 mile warranty. It made a large, difficult-to-clean grease stain on my garage floor. I believe the same failure would be covered by the 5/100 warranty.

The fact that Geoff is here, monitoring the forum for problems with customer service is very encourgaging to me!
Having just gone through some crazy problems with Verizon where they were crediting my total payments to Verizon Wireless and not splitting my combo plan payments off to the home/buriness phone. They disconnected all phone service, Home & Cell, saying that I was months in arears on my home phone bill. They showed me several hundred overpaid in my wireless account. Even after finding the problem, we had to go a day without phone service and our clients getting a "no longer in service" message when they call. No one at Verizon could correct the problem faster. This wasn't even going to be noted as a complaint until I demanded a response. They all blamed the other division. Now shopping for new phone service.
Thanks for letting me vent. However, this type of customer service seems to be more common in recent years, and I am comforted that GM is going the extra mile for us. The dealer netword is really the face of the company to most people and they aren't really employees. Dealers seem to be really concerned about the feedback we give the company about our buying experience. Hopefully, feedback about our service issues will be as important.
I had the right axle seal on the differential was seeping as well. '07 Coupe, Z51. GM replaced it no questions asked under the 5yr/100k powertrain warranty

Yes it seems that way. I am sure there is a gray area somewhere but I had a leaky oil pan fixed, and at least one other member had a different oil leak fixed under the 100K warranty. This is new ground as the three year boundary has just come up, but so far GM is stepping up to the plate. In my case it was not an highly expensive repair - the oil pan gasket did not need to be replaced, it was seepage from the bolts, which were removed and teflon sealed, total about 2 hours but it still saved me a few hundred dolllars. Some have reported the need for removing the oil pan to replace the entire gasket, that takes about 2 days.
