I ordered a set of the ones in Ecklers Catalog in Red with the Corvette wording in black. They were huge and IMO took away from the overall look. I went ahead and sent them back. I ordered powdercoated caliper ones instead from a forum vendor.
I would have to disagree with the above comments. I have them and am very happy with the look. If you see the advertising, they actually keep the brakes cooler. They tend to also keep the wheel cleaner. I've had many good comments from fellow vette owners. Just remember, some like different modds and some don't. Be your own judge. I have a black vert and the red covers with corvette and they look sharp. good luck....don't be discouraged, try them and see what you think.
I just bought my first Vette. Wanted one since I was 9. Couldn't really afford it but bought it anyway. 05 with 3700 miles. Not sure why the guy never really drove it but that only worked in my favor. So I thought about putting those covers on the brakes. Instead I bought the break caliper paint in red for $25. I'm going to apply it this weekend. Seems like an inexpensive but factory looking way of getting the breaks red and looking hot. As long as the paint goes on evenly. I was once scolded in first grade by an art teacher for not painting in the lines. HMM, Perhaps I should have someone else paint them. Oh to hell with Mrs. Arrons, I will prove her wrong and do it myself. I will let you all know how they turn out.
Thanks for the comments guys. I tend to agree that the covers will make the brakes run hotter. I think the test data the manufacturer has showing lower cover surface temps is due to the temp gradient across the cover. It's cooler on the outside but acts as a barrier preventing heat flow away from the caliper. I won't be buying them.---John

Your English teacher should of scolded you for your spelling....it's brakes, not breaks.
You'll do fine painting them yourself.

John, I have read a few reviews from forum members who have them (the brake covers) and the guys who have them love them, not sure of which brand. They never mentioned any problems with brakes because of over heating. Just laying down some facts.
They just add more weight to the wheels. Stupid idea.
and what will that do exactly, if your car is street driven, add .00001 to your street light to street light time? Maybe .00001 less MPG's. Seriously, how is that 3.5-5lbs going to make a difference. At lead the guys who say they are ugly have some argument as beauty is in the eye of the behoder.

True. Since most here won't part with their runflats I guess unsprung weight is a non argument. However, nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious just in case some drivers may wish to raise the bar with their Corvette experience in the future (as I did.)
