I, also, have a 2005 coupe with polished wheels. I'm looking at reproduction wheels from Corvettes of Houston (They're a CF vendor www.corvettesofhouston.com). When I had my C5, I bought chrome reproduction wheels from them and was VERY satisfied with the wheels, the price and the service.
You do not state where you are located but there is a gent in Pomona, Calif that offers fantastic chromed GM wheels as an exchange. He uses original GM wheels and are/were under $600 out the door, mounted! Name is CiCi and he advertises on a lot of car forums & eBay!
If you are in a major metro area, check out someplace to chrome your wheels. Chrome plating is a very dirty process with lots of hazmat chemicals used, so they are usually only in a heavy industrial area in a big city. If the wheels are in good shape, they can be done easily. All the money is in the prep work...the amount of chrome deposited is pennies worth.
