Default GM front grille?

Anybody have the GM front lower grille installed on their car? I have never seen 1 and in the pic I seen, it installs behind the stock grill.. I kinda like that idea but was wondering if anybody had any pics IF they have 1 installed.. thanks in advance!.. Tonya

here is the best photo that i have uploaded to my photobucket account. my car came with the grill and i was not a big fan at first. in fact, i thought / continue to think that the grill looks like a mouth full of orthodontia. with that said, when standing, the grill really is not visible. you only see it when you get down low. since this is a gm product it can / will last the lifetime of the vehicle.

I like the way it finishes off the look of the front end and it keeps leaves/etc. out of my VaraRam intake.

Tonya, I do have this installed on my car. I did not do it myself. I had to have the dealership install this, because you have to remove the entire front bumper. Once done, it can be screwed in from behind the bumper. I am not sure how difficult it is to install, but I would not do it myself. It took the dealership a couple of hours to do and is not cheap. Having said that, I like the way it looks.

I had not seen this before, but I like it.

It may not look as good with some colors like black (too much contrast) or silver (blend in too much), but that too is subject to personal taste.

Not all that hard to install, and no you don't need to remove any body parts. Just take your time.

I believe there are some instructions on the Corvette Central website, if you familiar with that site. That is where I got my instructions from. They do show removing the front bumper and the front part of the tire well cover. The reason is because the bottom of the bumper extends well beyond the black grill and you cannot simply slide it in. If you wanted to put a mesh screen in front of the black grill, that is a much simpler process and I think it is what most people do.

I, for one, would like to know how you do that without removing the grill?

When I looked on the Corvette Central website I couldn't find the GM mesh grill mentioned, just their good variety of other grilles. Some of which look like GM.
Can you tell me which one is the GM?

Agreed. And I know the Racemesh isn't GM.

But it looks SO much better than the GM part.
