The previous owner of my C6 glued cheap metal lettering on the C6 dash logo. Most of the metal letters popped off, except some of the letters left behind a nasty glue residue that won't come off.
It appears that I can buy a replacement dash for $500 through an on-line parts store, but I'm not skilled enough to remove the old dash and install the new one. Any ideaa what a body shop would charge to do this?
I'd do my best to remove the old glue, without damaging the dash plastic. If you can't get it all off, either painting the letters or getting a better set and re-glueing them would probably be better.
Best to get soft plastic letters, hard metal could be dangerouos if the airbag gets fired.
Replacing the dash is probably costly, difficult, and an invitation to squeaks & rattles.
