Uuugh, 2nd cracked windsheild this year!
Went 17 years without one, now had 2! First one this year was in our Camaro.
Anything to ask the glass guy? I've got 3LT, so I know I want the correct windshield for the HUD, but anything else? I think the Camaro used Pilkington, anyone know what brand for the C6?

Down here in Central Texas, I lost my windshield on my 3LT before I had 1000 miles on the car. I also only had liability insurance on the car as I bought it outright. Going to save some money you know, because I am smart. Well 1156.00 later at a dealer around Waco the car was good as new. I also put full coverage on the car right after it was fixed and it has managed to keep all the rocks away. Good luck and hope your gets fixed pretty quick. I had to wait a month for my windshield to come in.

I got a chip in mine the first week I had it. I have GIECO and they have a great glass replacement system. Called them up and had the chip repaired at my house on a Sunday !
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago and I got ANOTHER rock hit. This one cracked across the drivers windshield. Total replacement. Would have cost $1100 but only had to pay my $250 deductible.
BTW- Found out on the GS that they use poprivets-(GM specific) instead of screws to hold the glass in.

As they remove your old damaged windshield they may inadvertently cut some foam rubber pads from around the frame. These pads measure approximately 1/4" thick by 3/8" wide by about 3" long. They are important to the correct depth of the windshield in relation to all the surrounding trim. Additionally, if these pads are not in place, the tech could push down too hard on the new windshield and actually put glass on steel which will eventually crack the new glass.
