Default Wheel Respray

Just a quick update and some pics:

The Firestone dealer scratched the sh!^ out of my right rear when they installed the new runflats. The kid that installed the felt bad- but stuff happens. The dealer took $150.00 off and did the alignment for free. Anyway. $60 bucks worth of paint and primer later it looks "ok" not perfect but acceptable to the casual observer.... meh?

It's tough having them damage your wheel and being a Met fan on top of it. I'm glad that at least the wheel incident worked out for you.

Thanks for the info
How did you find That paint code for the silver wheel on that paint site site?
I know you found it in the C-6 registry but I don't see that code in the paint site.
I put year and make of car it it came up with exterior color which is body paint and not for wheels.

It's got to be one of these two... they're at the bottom of the page:

Light Warm Nickel Effect (Wheel) 837K
Bright Silver Sparkle Effect (Wheel) 9967

Here's note from the website:

" Chevrolet codes can be confusing! For example, the color code 96/WA8867 listed on our site can be shown on your vehicle as 96U or 96L or 8867 or WA8867. Often there will be a BC CC before the color code. This stands for Basecoat/Clearcoat. The U in the paint code means the Upper Color and the L means the Lower Color. Two tone vehicles will have each color coded, i.e. 96U and say 36L. Also, it could be 8867L or 8867U. "

I clicked on the address you provided and this came out

Because these colors are so old, we cannot guarantee a match. There are No Refunds and we recommend you send us a part for custom matching. We will not remix this paint even if the color does not match.

Always verify your color code on your vehicle! Do not order paint based on the paint name or color samples shown above.
There can also be additional colors, especially interior, trim and wheel not shown above. Please note:
The VIN does not give us your color code. It only gives us any paint formula variance in an existing color code.

If you can't find your color code listed above, fill out this form.

I wonder if this info is on the door tag taking into account it is for the wheels and not paint color of body.

Go to the home page http://www.paintscratch.com/ and put in the year, make and model and select Go. This should take you to a color pallet page/table; the wheel colors are at the bottom of the table.

I hope this helps

Discount tire scratched one of my wheels removing the run craps.
They called in a wheel specialist who sanded down and repainted and cleared the section of the wheel. It came out perfect.. he made sure the metal flake was the same.. He made sure to take it outside in the daylight to be sure it wasn't noticeable. I can't tell any difference at all..
