I went to a local dealership today in Houston to see about getting my center stripe replaced. I got to talking with one of the guys who said my top had a recall on it. They told me to leave my car with them and they would have it done in a week. I told them I'd have to get back to them on that because they wouldn't replace my stripe if they did the top swap. Anyone heard of this?

Was the stripe package GM installed or something aftermarket. I'm assuming if you went to the dealer then it was dealer installed.
If your Coupe is a 2005 06 and some 07's yes there is a recall. The top skin may separate from the roof. You should have the recall taken care of. If the dealer put the stripe on, then the dealer should replace it after the new top is painted. That's just my opinion. Maybe Geoff Scott will chime in. Good Luck and hope this helps.
PS Take care of the recall, if you don't and that roof flies off and hit someone or something they are coming after you.
I have a ZHZ hertz corvette so I believe thats factory installed stripe. As for the top, I couldn't leave it. It's my DD and not going to just leave it with out a top for a week. I asked to borrow a top for a week but they weren't down with that.
