Is the homelink in my 2005 Vette a rolling or non-rolling code device? It's got the three buttons and one triangular LED. It's a good homelink, not the cheap one GM put in on later models (Lear?)
I'd like to buy another homelink for my other car, and the one in the Vette works my garage and the community gate entrance. Need one just like it.
I know the garage is rolling, but not sure about the Gate into our neighborhood.
The reason I ask is that some that are for sale on eBay look like the one in the Vette, but say they are NON-rolling code Homelinks? Just wondering if there is a difference. I believe my neighborhood gate is a non-rolling.

The ones in the '05 will work with both. They require a bit more effort to program with rolling code garage door openers, but they're easier with fixed code gate openers. I had an '05 and no problem with the above situation.

If the decription says that it's a non rolling type, then it means that it's older and not capable of mimicing a rolling code opener. The Homelink is a better unit than the Lear, so look for a rolling code Homelink, it will do both rolling and fixed codes.
